As part of this initiative, NNG Maps joins the NDS.Live Evaluation Service, offering an enhanced dataset based on open map data with expert oversight. Designed to support navigation, ADAS, and map visualization, NNG Maps integrates community updates and professionally curated data, ensuring accurate road geometry, frequent data refreshes, and a reliable resource for developers.
Currently available for Germany and California (USA)—two key regions for NDS.Live usage—the NNG Maps Evaluation Service provides an ideal mix of urban, highway, and rural environments, perfect for real-world testing.
The NDS.Live Evaluation Service is a dedicated offering that provides registered users access to real-world map data—both commercial and open map content—under evaluation terms. Key benefits include:
Validate Your Solutions – Test applications against the NDS.Live specification with certified map services.
Explore New Features – Work with the latest NDS.Live modules and reference implementations.
Skip Lengthy NDAs – Access commercial data from multiple suppliers without extended legal agreements.
Use a Centralized Portal – Leverage comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and support on the NDS.Live Developer Portal.
Usage is strictly non-commercial, and users must accept the Terms and Conditions to ensure fair and clearly defined access rights.
The rapid expansion of infotainment and ADAS solutions has driven the NDS Association to create a robust, easily accessible test platform. By lowering barriers for developers, the initiative fosters innovation, streamlines real-world validation, and refines the NDS.Live specification through practical feedback.
Both NDS members and non-members can access the service through the NDS.Live Developer Portal. Under the “Maps” menu, users can view available real-world evaluation services and follow simple steps to request an API key.
NDS members must accept the Terms and Conditions.
Non-members need to provide additional details about their organization and a purpose-of-use before receiving a unique evaluation API token.
For a seamless experience, users can explore the NDS.Live Map Viewer before integrating the service into their applications.
With NNG Maps now part of the NDS.Live Evaluation Service developers gain expanded access to high-quality, up-to-date map data. Simply request an API key via the NDS.Live Developer Portal and begin testing with the NDS.Live Map Viewer or your own development tools.
We look forward to seeing what you build!
