Press release
Budapest, [01/10/2026]. NNG today announced that Péter Riz will become its new CEO on 1 October 2026. He succeeds Gavin Donkin, who has decided to take a well-earned break after 37 years in the automotive hardware and software industry and six years in leadership at NNG, the last three as CEO.

Under Gavin's leadership, NNG has grown from a navigation specialist into a broader automotive software partner. Building on more than 20 years in navigation and a deep customer base around the world, NNG has delivered its own navigation maps since 2023, starting in Europe, now in North America and expanding globally. With its cockpit solutions, NNG has also become an HMI integrator for OEMs, further expanding its capabilities and portfolio.
NNG is also preparing for the next wave of Software Defined Vehicles (SDV), with a new generation of products and an AI-driven development approach at its core. Built on native software platforms, these products drive speed, productivity, quality and end customer satisfaction.
“Over the past 30 years, automotive innovation and investment focused mainly on the powertrain, driven by emissions legislation and performance,” said Gavin Donkin. “Today's and tomorrow's vehicles are defined by the in-car experience, which has become the key differentiator for the end customer. NNG has a proven track record and is very well placed to support OEMs in this macro trend. Handing over to Péter now, with a strong team and new opportunities ahead, is the right moment for me and for NNG.”
Péter brings over 20 years of international experience leading technology, product and platform-driven businesses across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia, with a focus on transformation, growth and strategic repositioning in the software industry. Péter is Hungarian and will be based at NNG's headquarters in Budapest.
“NNG has valuable expertise in navigation, mapping and cockpit software,” said Péter Riz. “I look forward to working with the team, listening to our customers and building on these strengths. My focus is on creating lasting value for our customers and building a stable, growing business.”
NNG thanks Gavin for his significant contribution over the past six years and wishes him all the best for the future. The company welcomes Péter as its new CEO and looks forward to his leadership as NNG drives its next phase of growth.
