Development of a multi-platform, scalable, modular, complex hybrid navigation system, and creating new R+D positions at NNG LLC

Automation and connectivity are now, more than ever, the focus of driver user experience. Car owners are bringing 21st-century market expectations to the in-car environment. They demand user experiences that expand on the digital ecosystems they take for granted outside the vehicle.

Cloud navigation is a key enabler for this trend. It provides the freshest data, continuously evolving functionality and an end-to-end user experience that combines the benefits of embedded and mobile solutions. It also enables the optimization of OEM cost structures and the realization of recurring revenues.

After the exploration phase, via several prototyping rounds, the concept was validated from both a technical and business perspective. Productization started in parallel, resulting in a production-ready solution that now serves as a reference for customer project deliveries.

Major milestones included delivering hybrid driver-experience concepts: NDS corridor updates, NDS map streaming, and delta-compressed NDS map streaming solutions.

The cloud navigation solution is built on a completely new, scalable, and modular software architecture. Using state-of-the-art technologies, it is not only future proof but also a solution for raw cloud services, software development kits, or fully integrated solutions.
