Enhancing Digital Maps with AI-Derived Confidence Information

Digital maps are essential sensors in self-driving cars, aiding in Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) and initiating early takeover requests. This paper introduces three strategies to convey map confidence levels: timestamp information, variance details in crowd-sourced maps, and identifying map outliers using Variational Auto Encoders (VAE), ensuring reliable autonomous navigation.

Combining ADAS & SD Maps for Advanced Augmented Reality Guidance

Despite huge improvements in the automated driving domain, most driving is still done manually. In this paper, we show how manual driving can be made safer and more convenient by combining information from onboard navigation systems with available vehicle sensors, such as a front-facing camera.
